What is a Dystopia Rising Live?
The LARP world of Dystopia Rising, much like the survivors within the game world, is very much alive. It is a living space where players participate in the live events, where the world shapes the characters, and the characters in turn shape the world. The Dystopia Rising LARP has events that impact the shape of the game world, and to keep a chronicle of that living narrative, we have introduced the Dystopia Rising Live book series.
These books are written by, hosted by, and mostly paid for by the people at Most Improbable. The founders of Most Improbable include the original creator of the Dystopia Rising universe as well as the only other person who has written as much content and material for Dystopia Rising across all of its forms. These books are released in digital format, for free, as both a chronicle of the ongoing LARP game world and also as a labor of love. A love of stories, a love of writing, and a love of the game universe that we once thought was gone.
We encourage you to use them in your local live games as a resource, to tell stories with these materials, and to make something amazing. We do ask that you do not print and sell these books, or host them on another website, or otherwise take the work that we have created. We want to make books and host them, provide them for your enjoyment, but we do not want them taken and used to drive traffic to other websites as a form of marketing or sold for profit. This is our creative outlet, and we get to choose how it is presented. As long as you can respect the fact that we are putting ourselves out into the world the way we want to, we will continue to produce this content.
All of the artwork within this book is either contracted or licensed from artists for our use. We pay for it out of pocket for this specific use, and we would appreciate it if you respected the artists we hire as well by not stealing, reproducing, or recreating the art without their permission.
